This group explores how web technology can be used in support of grassroots organizing and social activism. Like many tech meetups, we will gather together simply to share ideas, experiences, new tools, and a few laughs, so that we can better achieve our individual goals. At the same time, we'll work as a group to build a shared social vision, and will look for opportunities to coordinate our efforts in support of common goals. New York, with its deep pool of talented and passionate innovators, provides a unique opportunity to realize the potential of web technology and empower non-profit organizations.

The group has a lot of potential, especially if we push forward on some of the ideas raised like working on projects together and cross-pollinating with like-minded groups.
