We will start test run our book discussion events to see how it goes. We have different communities of people in our group and I feel we need diverse types of events to bring different people together. As I said before, if any of you want to host some events that are related to the theme of this group, please let me know. This group should function more like a platform.

For the first time in human history, human consciousness is connected on the web, whose flow on the open web brings the life on the planet earth to a level that is never imagined before. The flow first manifested itself in the building of its very own infrastructure--the open source movement. Then after accumulating enough experiences, it spread to the ways of human organizations and other sectors of human society. The unhindered flow of human consciousness brings about the peaceful forces of life to break the barriers that were set up by close-mindedness and ignorance. Many books sprang up recently trying to summarize the experience and best practices of this movement. We are going to have a serie of book discussions to see what we can learn from each book.

As our first installation of the serie, we will discuss Paul Hawken's Blessed Unrest, How the Largest Movement In the World Came Into Being and Why No One Saw it Coming.

This book sketched the history and progress of several grassroots movements, and how they are converging recently on the web. It has many good reflection on capitalism and the culture in general, and provides some outlines for the future or some basis on which we can think about the future.

As we witness and participate in the "collectively the largest movement on earth", this book and this kind of discussion are very needed.

We will discuss the following topics: 1. what are the characteristics of this largest movement on earth? 2. How different culture can learn from each other in a peaceful way? 3.How to take a whole and organic view of human history and our future? 4. How to reflect on capitalism? How to reflect on western culture? 5. What really drive human being? and so on. Bring your own topics regarding the book. Let's discuss what we can learn from this book. You can sign up for this event at: http://web.meetup.com...

The time and location are final. I will see everyone at Earth Matters Cafe at 6pm on Sept. 14th.

We talked about the 30m human rights ads, well they have all the ads online: http://www.youthforhumanrig... so there is no need to upload them to Youtube. And I have seen 2 accounts on Youtube which have them too. I mentioned this, please pass it on and ask others to subscribe: http://tinyurl.com/911Wrong...
